“I, personally, have made the decision to leave a gift to Carey in my will. I hope you’ll do the same, for the sake of the church, for the sake of mission, and for the sake of the world that God so dearly loves.”
– Dr John Tucker, Principal
Leaving a gift in your will to Carey is a way for you to “pass the baton on” to the next generation of Christian Leaders. Also known as “leaving a bequest” it is a gift that will be treasured by Carey and will make a lasting impact for years to come.
Your gift will be used to make transformational change in the lives of our students, as they engage in deep learning of the Bible, theology, and grow in their love for Jesus. Their impact will be felt far and wide as many continue on to serve as Pastors and Leaders in our churches, or impact their communities, businesses.
“I’m thrilled that you are considering leaving a gift in your will to Carey. Let me quickly share with you why I love Carey, and why I believe your gift will make a lasting difference in this world. We believe that the God of mission who we worship is at work in the world by his Spirit to reconcile all of creation in Christ. Our learning and growth is oriented towards Spirit‑empowered participation in that mission. At Carey our students learn to bring the resources of the Christian faith into conversation both with the realities of their context and the practices of Christian life and leadership today.”

What does it mean to leave a gift in my will or make a bequest?
Bequests are gifts that are made as part of a will. A bequest gift is a way of creating a lasting legacy at Carey that will make an impact for years to come. Gifts in wills are an important source of fundraising for Carey, helping ensure out continuing operation into the future.
Can my bequest be used for a particular purpose?
It is possible to make a bequest and tie it to a particular purpose and we will do our upmost to honour your request. However, it is more beneficial for Carey to receive general ‘no strings attached’ bequests as we can put your gift towards the greatest need.
Do I need to let Carey know I am leaving a gift in my will?
It is entirely up to you whether or not you let us know. We understand that the contents of your will are personal and you may prefer to keep those details entirely to yourself. However, if you are willing, we’d love for you to let us know by emailing [email protected] so that we can personally thank you, keep you informed about any changes that impact gifts in wills, and keep you updated on the work and life of Carey.
Will the gift in my will be kept confidential?
It is important to Carey that your privacy is respected. All information that you provide us with will be kept confidential unless we have your express permission to share it.
