About the programme

Has God called you to gospel service within Māori and bicultural communities in Aotearoa? We believe God is rising up servant leaders to express and embody the gospel of Christ effectively wtihin te ao Māori and other contexts.

Ngā Pou Amorangi is a  three year part-time Māori leadership initiative designed to equip akoranga (learners) for their God-given purpose and calling. The learning experience is structured around Ngā Takiwā, a servant development framework based on the pōwhiri process on marae.

Through wānanga and formation sessions you will grow in confidence as you engage with amorangi (ministry practitioners) and ahorangi (lecturers) on biblical, theological, ministry and mission questions. Experts in te ao Māori will guide you throughout the learning.

After successfully meeting the three year training requirements of Ngā Pou Amorangi you will graduate with the following:

“We believe that networks of Christians equipped with the right tools to serve within te ao Māori will naturally rise to positions of influence, partnering with God in the transformation of people and communities.”

“Ngā Pou Amorangi is like an armour. I love the whanaungatanga. I love the way we come together for karakia and waiata. Ngā Pou Amorangi is strengthening my faith and understanding. It is enabling me to do what we do here at the marae: to bring wellness to our people, to create God spaces, and to continue oranga wairua and fostering leadership.”
